Licking

Think of licks as merely “doggie kisses?” Well, you could be wrong. Puppies are licked immediately out of the womb by their mother, who licks off the excess goo from birth and continues the tradition to groom the pups. As dogs get older, they recognize the licking behavior as a sense of dominance. Your kisses are to show that they know you’re the boss and they like it that way.
