“My first spray-paint project was 25 years ago”

Kelly is no stranger to using spray paint around the house. She got her first taste in high school when she painted a garage-sale lamp. Her favorite project is a spray-painted KitchenAid stand mixer. (You really can spray paint almost anything.) Recently, Kelly used several bold colors on cheap folding chairs. “I saw a photo of some colored chairs somewhere and that gave me the idea to use spray paint to freshen them up and make them party ready,” she says.

Kelly’s favorite paint: “Right now, I’m totally loving aqua and lighter turquoise colors. I used some aqua on the walls in my laundry room where I spray painted my washer and dryer!”

“All of my spray-paint projects are like my children”

Cyndy began using spray paint to update thrift store accessories in her early 20s. “I was mesmerized by the process and loved that I could instantly turn trash into treasure with just a cheap can of spray paint,” she says. Recently, Cyndy used enamel paint to give costume jewelry a new life. Her favorite project is her redesigned front porch. Cyndy used two colors to update furniture and accessories, giving her entire outdoor area a fresh look.

“Well versed in the power of spray paint”

Diane started spray painting when she worked in retail, painting props and mannequins for displays. “When I moved into my own home and could decorate it, I was well versed in the power of spray paint,” she says. She recently remade an outdoor table and chair. “The set was old, but in good shape and just need a color tweak. Thanks to the power of spray paint, I was able to transform it.”

Diane’s favorite paint: “I really like the hammered finishes by Rustoleum — they are amazing. Hammered Brown and Hammered Bronze.”

“I am an instant gratification kind of girl”

Tausha began spray painting when she saw how fast and easy it was. “I guess you could say that I am an instant gratification kind of girl,” she says. “I also love that it’s inexpensive and you can transform almost anything with a can of spray paint.” In addition to spray painting her refrigerator and a rug, Tausha created an outdoor Twister game with spray paint in the grass. “It is the perfect addition to any summer shindig,” Tausha says. “Plus, it took minutes to do. Win-win.”

Tausha’s favorite paint: “Hands down — Heirloom White by Rustoleum. It is the perfect creamy white color.”
