Tyra Banks expands her online empire with The Hunt, a new website that combines our two favorite things: social media and shopping!
Tyra Banks knows a thing or two about fashion — being in the industry for two decades will do that to you. Now, she wants to use that knowledge to help you find the clothes you’re coveting on Pinterest and Tumblr.
Well, kinda: Banks is backing a new shopping website, The Hunt, according to Women’s Wear Daily. Basically, the idea is to crowdsource online shopping. First, you spot a piece online you want and take it to The Hunt. Then, other members will help you find the exact item or at least similar options.
“It truly sucks to discover a great style item but not be able to find and buy it,” Banks told Women’s Wear Daily. “The Hunt solves that fashion dilemma in a fun and innovative way. What I love about The Hunt is that women help other women find their perfect outfit [head-to-toe]. I am excited to be part of this new approach to collective retail and styling.”
It’s not the first time Banks has forayed into online media: She launched a beauty and fashion website — TypeF — in 2011 after enrolling in a Harvard Business School executive program. She’s been criticized for not really “graduating” from the Ivy League school, but it’s hard not to appreciate a celebrity who’s trying to do more than party in her post-college days.
“I wanted to be more of a businesswoman. I wanted to take this name I had made for myself and take it to the next level,” she told Models.com in 2009.

As for The Hunt? We’ll be all over it once it launches. We can only hope our credit cards will forgive us for our online shopping habits.
