Hot mama Kate Hudson stepped out in this blue disaster for the Los Angeles premiere of HBO’s Clear History. We’re surprised that this minidress is designed by Balmain, a brand typically known for edgy embellished sequined and leather dresses, not denim on denim looks.
This patchwork pattern is so busy, from the metal chain accents to the embroidered flowers and bejeweled sleeves. Denim is typically a casual fabric and seems like a strange choice to use on such a detailed designer dress. Save the denim for your jeans and not the red carpet.
The final verdict? We don’t love the dress, but Kate’s body does look absolutely amazing in it! With her svelte waist and legs for days, we wouldn’t guess she has two kids. We want her trainer’s name ASAP! The actress was also smart to choose a simple suede pump since her dress has so much going on already.
Ashlee Simpson
Why Ashlee Simpson attempted gothic chic at the premiere of an animated children’s movie is beyond us! Here she is at the Planes premiere in Hollywood, where she donned a baggy trash bag-like dress and brought along her 4-year-old son Bronx.
Her long-sleeved, lace-paneled black dress is off season and not properly fitted to her frame. We think it would look way better as a sleeveless number. And those black studded flat moto ankle boots are just awful! We wouldn’t hate this dress with a black high heel, but this current combo just doesn’t work.
The final verdict? Ashlee’s wild, frizzy mane is the icing on the top of this goth gone wrong mess. If this is what the single mom wears to a children’s movie screening, we’d love to see what she’ll rock to a PTA meeting. But her best accessory of the day was her son Bronx, and Ash gets cool mom points for taking him to a premiere!
