Curvaceous hourglass figures have symmetrical shoulders and hips along with a defined waist. If you are blessed with an hourglass figure, flaunt your curves — don’t hide them.
Cocktail dresses for hourglasses
A fitted dress that hugs your curves is ideal if you have an hourglass body shape. Strapless or off-the-shoulder styles that aren’t overly embellished with beading or ruffles are your best bet.
“It’s really important to know what dress length is right for you. Wearing skirts that end at the thickest part of your legs (whether it be the widest part of your thighs or calves) will just made you appear a lot shorter and wider than you actually are,” says fashion expert and TV personality Jeannie Mai. “A-lines are another great choice for you hourglasses. As long as they are fitted around the waist and hips and don’t flare out from the waist you will look gorgeous in them.”

Beyonce, Scarlett Johansson, Salma Hayek, Jessica Alba, Kate Winslet, Mariah Carey and Drew Barrymore all have curvy hourglass body shapes.
