Lauren Conrad helps you take your look from summer to fall

Former Hills star Lauren Conrad, turned style expert, thinks some fashion rules are made to be broken. So, we caught up with her at the launch of her Paper Crown line during Fashion’s Night Out in Los Angeles to pick her brain about fall fashion.

“I always wear white after Labor Day,” Lauren Conrad confesses. “I think I even wore it yesterday. White in winter is so beautiful to me. That’s a rule I never follow.” Gosh, it feels good to be bad doesn’t it LC?

FLARED DENIM

As it comes time to transition our wardrobes into the autumn and winter seasons, Lauren thinks flare denim will still top the fashion charts. “That was really big this summer and it is going to carry over.” Since we’ve been grooving to 70s-inspired trends for some time now, we think she’s right. And while every gal loves a good skinny jean, we all need some variety in our lives. So ladies, dare to flare this fall. LC says so!

LAYERING

Lauren tell us, “Layering is always so big in fall.” Just keep working pieces in she says, “whether it’s a lightweight blouse or a blazer.” Our style guru of the hour is right again. Fall is the perfect time of year to flirt with the fine line between summer and winter fashion trends. “Wear any sort of short or skirt and just add tights– I’m all about keeping it year round.” Not only is this a great way to look stylish as the leaves start to change, it’s also a great great way to be fashionable on a budget.

FABULOUS FABRICS

The reality star chatted with us about working on her fashion line Paper Crown. “It’s something I’ve done on my own, which has been really fun. We wanted to do really beautiful fabrics.” She also says, about her personal style, “Whether I’m shopping or doing tears for magazines, I really love that free flowing romantic look with fabrics that are just very beautiful.”
