Steal the look: Julie Bowen’s AMA makeup

The American Music Awards took place this Sunday and Modern Family’s Julie Bowen wowed the crowd as one sexy presenter. Steal her fun makeup look with these tips!

When creating Bowen’s neutral look, NYX Cosmetics makeup artist Heather Currie was inspired by the actress’ energetic personality and the new NYX Cosmetics’ Butt “Naked” Eyes Palette. To complement Bowen’s white, gold and silver sequined dress, Currie created a elegant 60s inspired cat eye and nude lip.

Face

Prep skin with NYX Cosmetics’ HD Studio Photogenic Primer and a light layer of HD Studio Photogenic Foundation in Soft Beige. Set your foundation with Stay Matte But Not Flat Powder Foundation in Medium Beige to avoid any nasty shine, then coat foundation with HD Studio Photogenic Grinding Powder in Nude.

Don’t forget your cheeks, ladies! Color the apples of your cheeks with the mauve blush from the Butt “Naked” Eyes Palette. From the same palette, contour and highlight your skin with the bronzers and shimmery illuminator.

Eyes

We’re a huge fan of a sexy cat eye here at LovingYou and we’re totally crushing on Bowen’s 60s inspired one! To create the look, use NYX Cosmetics’ Cosmetics’ Collection Noir Glossy Black Liner. Smudge your liner and mix it with the dark, shimmery gray eye shadow from the Butt “Naked” Eyes Palette. Contrast is key to this look, so take the shimmery taupe eye shadow from the same palette and sweep across the lids, and then take the pale pink shimmery shade and apply between the brows and lids to enhance your brow bone.

Finish off the look by shading in your brows and setting them with Giorgio Armani Eyebrow Pencil in #3. Top off the look with several coats of NYX Cosmetics’ Doll Eye Mascara in Long Lash.

Lips

Since you’re rocking such a dramatic eye look, you’ll want to downplay your lips. Try NYX Cosmetics’ nude-tinted Color Lip Balm in Spasibo. Add a bit of pizzazz to the look with Pump it Up Lip Plumper in Kim.
