Get cozy and pamper yourself this winter

It’s cold out there and Jack Frost has only just begun his work. It’s enough to make you want to cocoon inside on a cold winter’s night (or day) and snuggle up to the fireplace. Being comfortable and cozy is a must but that doesn’t mean frumpy. A little pampering goes a long way. Treat yourself this winter with luxe things to make your home the proverbial castle and you won’t mind staying in one bit.

Bubble bath

Give yourself a spa treat at home with a good soak in the tub. You’ll warm up, relax muscles and moisturize dry skin. Feel like a million bucks with Chanel No 5 Limited Edition Intense Bath Oil ($85). It not only works in the bath but looks awfully chic on the shelf.

Candles

There’s something romantic and soothing about a candle. The gentle flickering light, and of course, the fabulous scents that can take you anywhere. Get spicy and think of warmer days with Slatkin for Bath and Body Works in Tropical Spice ($20) or bring a little je ne sais quoi into your abode with the candles of New York florist Belle Fleur in scents like Neroli Pine, redolent of a mountain winter or the cocoa, tobacco leaf and espresso of Cacao Tabaq ($50).

Faux fur throw

Think mink and feel like a Rockefeller with a throw made of the softest faux fur. Faux is so much more luxe than fleece and is really warm. Restoration Hardware makes them in four fur types ($79). Matching pillow covers are also available.

Cashmere sweatshirt

Ditch the basic sweats for the ultimate version by Talbots. Their “sweatshirt” is 100 percent seriously soft two-ply cashmere with sparkle stitching ($149), and it comes in all sizes. Perfect for weekends spent inside or out.

Shearling slippers

Shearling provides the ultimate in warmth and doesn’t make feet sweat. It’s also oh so soft. Grab a pair like Coach’s Arleen slipper ($49) complete with a suede upper and rubber sole which makes going outside for a mailbox run just as comfy as couch surfing.

Plush robe

Wrap yourself in a cloud of comfort with a fluffy robe. Try a cashmere blend or super soft cottony fleece like Nordstrom’s Plush Terry Robe ($98) or Powder Plush Robe ($50) for softness you won’t want to take off.
