As a makeup artist on photo shoots, on the runways and film, I have worked with some of the best in the hair business! So, I asked my “go-to-guys” to share how to achieve runway-ready locks at home. I have the hottest spring hairstyle trends from the red carpet and some great tips that will get you out of your spring hair rut!

The jewel-toned highlights and swing panels of the fall winter season this year have made way for a visual feast of nature-inspired, gorgeous, and dare I say, low-maintenance color schemes.
Go lighter: Cast out those drab, dark roots for a lighter base, maybe even just a level lighter, and complement this new shade with some balayaged sections framing the face, sides and underneath. Not highlighting the top and instead just occasionally doing a base break at the root will not only leave your hair in better condition but will let the summer sun impart its own highlights.
Waves: Couple this new color with a beachy wave by drying your hair with your favorite styling cream, and then loosely wrapping your tresses around a curling iron from mid-strand down. Throw your head forward to shake out the wave and lightly finish with Oribe’s Apres Beach spray ($35).
Ponytail: While this style would be appropriate for daytime, you can always transition to a more sophisticated nighttime look by simply pulling the hair back into either a side or low centered ponytail. Leave your head either smooth or loose according to your mood, and voila, you are ready for whatever the night has in store.

Spring hair trends mean the return of more color, lots of waves, curls, casual braids, extra volume and sexy hair! If you don’t have the time or the hair gods are nowhere to be found, here are a couple of simple styles I would suggest that are easy on the eyes and still give off that sex kitten with a whip appeal.
Bun head: Bun heads aren’t just another name for ballerinas anymore. Buns of all shapes and sizes will be one of the more popular looks for spring and summer 2012. I suggest wearing a top shiny bun; use Aquage finishing spray to help seal down any stray hairs while giving you a high shine finish. Or try a sleek low-knotted bun to perfectly complement every little black dress.
Ponytail: Ponytails were a dominant force and showed no signs of going anywhere at NYC Fashion Week. Polish your pony, high or low, with Aquage detailing creme to make it a more finished-looking style.
Texture: Of course all of these styles work great with textured hair. Texture will add dimension and look supermodel runway-ready for the more fashion forward thinking diva.

Catherine Zeta-Jones has beautiful wavy hair that I adore. Catherine’s hair is an easy, glamorous look to achieve in front of your own mirror. First, shampoo with Twisted Sista De-Frizz Shampoo to hydrate your strands, and provide nutrients such as green tea extract and coconut oil.

Then, using a 1/2-inch to 1-inch curling iron, begin curling hair, rotating the direction of each curl you do. After all your hair is curled, use a wide-tooth comb or your fingers to comb through curls lightly.
