Deborah Lippmann debuts Girls-inspired nail polish

Just in time for the second season of Girls comes news that Deborah Lippmann is planning a fab collection inspired by the hit HBO show.

Celebrity-inspired nail polish lines are like fragrances: Every celeb has one. Now, Lena Dunham and the gang from the hit HBO show Girls have their own nail polish collection — created by Deborah Lippmann — just in time for the show’s second season.

Each color in the collection is inspired by a character on the show: The Hannah-inspired color is called “Hapless Hunter Green,” while Marnie has “Prim and Proper Pink,” Shoshanna has “Virtuous Vivid Violet” and Jessa’s is called “Bohemian Burgundy.”

It’s a nice idea, but we can’t imagine any of the die-hard hipster fans of the show will shell out $45 for the four-polish set. That cash would buy a lot of yellow mesh shirts and PBR.

Speaking of Girls, Dunham just posed for a Terry Richardson photo shoot slated for the new issue of V magazine, out Jan. 10. In the interview (via NY Magazine), the 26-year-old writer and director seems refreshingly humble.

On free clothes:

I cannot get over it…. And they actually send them in my size. No one’s being an asshole and sending them to me in a 4. They’re sending me clothes, they fit, and what people should know is that I always wear them. Somehow even if I wouldn’t have bought it, the fact that it was free and my grandma’s depression-era mentality make me think it is the most beautiful thing I ever owned, and I wear it for several days straight.

On setting low expectations:

Now, meeting actresses who such a big part of their job is about what they look like, I feel so lucky to be freed from that prison. I ate cake for breakfast on the day of the Emmys, I ate cake for dinner, my workout didn’t require Spanx, and I still feel like I looked better than people expected me to. It was amazing.

Love it.

The Girls-inspired nail polish collection by Deborah Lippmann is available now and will ship starting Jan. 15.

Will you rock Girls nail polish this winter?
