Get the look: Beyonce’s leather and lace Super Bowl ensemble

In case you missed it, Beyonce took the stage for the Super Bowl 2013 halftime show and all we can say is that it was FIERCE! As in Sasha Fierce. Where do we start? Her flawless vocal performance that was more than sufficient to silence the lip sync critics? Her spectacular entrance as she stomped to the beat of “Crazy in Love?” How about that dress?

Anytime you pair leather and lace, you project a certain air of unpredictability. Are you sugar or spice? Miss B played both sides of the fence with a medley that included “Bootylicious” and “Independent Woman,” finishing with a passionate rendition of “Halo.” You have to be born with the pipes, but the look is much more accessible.

The leather and lace ensemble was designed by New York-based designer Rubin Singer, who went to great lengths to ensure perfection. According to our sources, it required no less than five fittings, 200 man hours, a 14 member team and a week of daily dress rehearsals at the Superdome. No Nipplegate happening here. Bravo, Mr. Singer!

Jason Wu’s Lambskin Leather and Lace Sheath dress has a similar vibe. The butter-soft leather ends in a jagged hem with sheer lace and leather cut outs.

Valentino’s Lace and Leather Sheath is also quite daring, with a sheer lace front panel and full leather back and sides.

Nicholas Kirkwood Lace-up Lace Pumps bring together leather and lace in a killer stiletto heel. Sheer lace is edged with leather in a lace-up open toe sandal.

Show your man you mean business in the bedroom. Lingerie Diva’s Lace and Leather corset is all vixen.

Beyonce’s look was complete with opera length fingerless leather gloves, pushed down for a bit of tough-girl glam. Try Cut 25 by Yigal Azrouel Fingerless Leather Gloves.

Miss B’s smoky eye/nude lip played perfectly with her look. The smudged liner gave her a soft, smoldering look. Start with a sparkly black shadow like the one in Wet N Wild’s Blue Had Me at Hello Color Icon Palette. Blend out the crease with the MAC 217 brush.
