Geometric prints are everywhere right now! Both funky and fresh, it’s just the right pattern pop for any outfit!
Don’t Be Square This Spring
If you’re trying to minimize certain areas of your body, even geo prints can help with that. Take for example this skirt from Brooklyn Industries. The pattern creates the illusion of a smaller waistline and also brings the focus to the front of the shirt — not your hips. If you’re looking for an allover print, this adorable loose fitting blouson sleeve dress by the Gap in a bold diamond pattern is right on trend for a spring look.
Find some harmony
The Labyrinth Pendant displays two powerful symbols that have been found throughout the ages in cultures all over the world. On one side is a miniature labyrinth, which symbolizes transformation, rebirth and the eternal spiritual journey. The other side features the sacred Flower of Life, an interlocking geometric pattern which represents universal wisdom and harmony.

Get out of my hair
Chevron Bobby Pins — Get into the trend with this great set of chevron bobby pins. Three different colors but one pattern. This set highlights the season’s hottest colors — Monaco blue, lilac and emerald green. Beaded geometric pattern measures 3/4″ by 1/2″ (approximately). Bobby pins are 2″ long and jet black. The tiny seed beads used are glass and colors may vary slightly.
Know your shape — and its limits
When dealing with chevron and geometric styles, the scale of the geometric pattern is extremely important. If you are petite with small features, you should wear a smaller scale pattern. But if you are curvy with larger features, you can pull off a bigger, bolder pattern. Pattern placement is a great tool to use to your advantage. Use it to draw attention to a small bust to make it appear larger, or draw attention away from a larger chest by wearing a patterned skirt.
Vertical stripes make you look long and lean and are perfect for an oval body type.
Horizontal stripes can sometimes do more harm than good. But if you add a diamond pattern at the waist, you are suddenly an hourglass! It’s also perfect for hourglass body types as well as rectangles. Example: French Connection, a peplum geometric is great to give a rectangle body curves or balance an inverted triangle. Example: , an abstract geometric print is so fun, but make sure it has a defined waist. Then, it is a good option for an hourglass or rectangle body type. Example: Trina Turk.
