Our favorite trends from New York Fashion Week

Designers, stars, models, editors and celeb-stalkers — they all flock to New York City twice a year for Fashion Week. NYFW is super-important for seeing the hot trends for the coming season — and there was a lot to forecast after this year’s festivities!

Strong brows

Bushy brows are back and bigger than ever. We talked to Brow guru to the stars Joey Healy and he reassured us that that robust arches are still making their comeback. But there’s a twist. You have to think about how your lip plays into your bold brow look as well. As Joey says, “It is all about the relationship between the lip and the brow and how they artfully balance one another.” Bottom line? Joey says to create tension between the lip and the brow. What this means for you? Get ready to rock bold lipstick.

Tall boots

Can we just say how excited we are that our favorite accessory in the universe — tall boots — was the star of many a runway? At 3.1 Phillip Lim, we saw knee-high boots with asymmetrical miniskirts and at Prabal Gurung, a whole new spin, where boots were reimagined with an open toe and heeled and harnessed with a back zip. They stood out as a future “it” boot to have for fall — and we can’t wait!

Headphone couture

Headphones, the ubiquitous accessory of the digital era, made their mark at NYFW. Legendary audio brand Harman/Kardon was at the forefront of this movement and introduced white headphones to fashion-forward consumers that value beautiful design and beautiful sounds. White Harman/Kardon Classic Headphones were spotted on the runway (and in the hands of celebrities) during the Boy Meets Girl By Stacy Igel fashion show.

Fur

At Thakoon, J. Mendel, Derek Lam, Jason Wu and many others, fur was everywhere — traditional fur, brightly dyed fur, all kinds of fur. One rich intarsia pieced fox fur coat at Altuzarra, was everything — but there was so much more to love!
