What to pack?
Temperatures are still hot and hazy in the late summer and early fall, so make sure you pack your cutest swimsuits, along with a broad-spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen, a good sun hat and lightweight and breezy clothing for a safe vacation in the sun.
Hotel deals
Through September, swanky Miami Beach hotels including the Standard Spa Miami Beach, Fontainebleau Miami Beach, Eden Roc Miami Beach offer nightly room rate specials for under $300 per night.
What is shoulder season?
October through December is known as Miami’s “shoulder season.” Since this period is right before peak season starts in January, hotel and airfare prices may go up a bit. But the temperatures go down — on average, between 75 and 83 degrees — so it may be worth it to spend a little more. October is Miami Attractions Month, and discounts are offered on excursions well-suited for the nature-lover and adventure-seeker. Popular events during this time also include the Miami Book Fair International in November and the prestigious Art Basel fine art show in December.
