Summer is all about experimenting with new looks! If you’re as crunched for time as we are, though, these easy-breezy hairstyles will quickly become your go-tos.
Beachy waves
Beachy waves are a no-brainer for summer! Before you hit the hay, simply braid damp hair in two low pigtail braids and tie the ends off with loose elastics. When you wake up the next day, undo the braids and shake your hair out. If necessary, lightly run a straightener over your strands to help reduce frizz.
A loose side braid
Perfect for a day at the beach or a casual night out, a loose side braid is by far one of our favorite hairstyles for summer. To get the look, part your hair slightly to one side and prep strands with a great texturizing spray prior to braiding. Be sure to create your braid on the side with the most hair (this should be the side opposite your part). Secure the end with a clear elastic hair tie and finish off with a light-hold hairspray. For a messier look, pull strands out at random from your braid.
A messy topknot
A messy topknot can take you straight from the pool to the red carpet. While this style does tend to work best on dirty strands, it can easily be achieved on clean locks as well. Start by pulling your hair up into a high ponytail. (Remember: It doesn’t have to be perfect.) Spray your ponytail with a volumizing spray and use a teasing brush to create even more volume. Twist large sections randomly into a big bun, securing with bobby pins as you go. Top it off with a little hairspray, and you’re ready to roll.
A braided bun
Trust us, a braided bun is a whole lot less complicated than it looks! Pull your hair back into a high ponytail to start. Then split your ponytail into three sections and braid down to the end as normal. Without tying off the end, twist your braid into the shape of a bun on top of your head. Now, grab some bobby pins to keep everything in place and tame any flyaways with hairspray.
A flirty curled pony
Seeking a quick and cute updo for a night on the town? Throw dirty or clean hair up into a ponytail that sits at the middle-back of your head and use a medium-barrel curling iron to create haphazard curls throughout. Pull your ponytail tight, add a little hairspray and voilà — you’ll be out the door in 10 minutes or less, guaranteed!

Hat hair
Yep, seriously! In case you haven’t noticed, all the cool girls are rocking beanies this summer. Pair yours with messy waves, cutoff shorts and a cute crop top for an enviable, street-worthy look.
Quick tip:
For a braided bun that’s larger than life, just use a teasing brush to build volume before braiding.
