Product review: Amorepacific Color Control Cushion Compact

Can a compact foundation that is cushion-like give you good coverage and liquid-like results? This one does.

Name this product:

Amorepacific Bamboo Sap Color Control Cushion Compact foundation (amorepacific.com, $60)

What the product claims to do:

Evens out skin tone with a very natural looking finish and color through a novel cushion compact technology.

How it worked for me:

The foundation feels great to apply, very cooling, and coverage is buildable and long lasting. I like to put on two layers to camouflage sun spots and then go without a foundation. If I’m in a hurry, one application will do.

How this product looks and feels:

AmorePacific really has its color-correcting technology perfected. Available in four shades, the CC compact range initially seems limited. But the shades are truly forgiving and work on many different skin tones. The product looks like a spongy compact and feels soft, but goes on light (not sheer) and covers your imperfections.

What I liked about this product:

It’s a novel technology that feels cool and refreshing — not a lot of compact foundations accomplish this.

What I would change about this product:

Very little, if anything.

Describe the application process, how often you used the product and for how long:

I used the compact twice daily, once in the morning and once in the evening, both times after applying concealer.

Describe the results you saw over a week:

Since this CC compact’s benefits start with a bamboo sap base (rather than traditional water in oil), it moisturizes, fights free radical damage and boosts the skin’s resistance to environmental aggressors with amino acids. Amorepacific was one of the first, if not the first, to use green tea in skin care. Rich in polyphenols and antioxidants, green tea powder fills in fine lines to achieve a smooth finish. Over the course of a week, my skin felt smoother and my lines were softer.

I would recommend this product for:

Women who want an anti-aging foundation with a cool, refreshing touch.
