The summer’s long gone and the hectic holidays are almost upon us. Here are some easy-to-get to destinations for that long weekend fall getaway!
Palm Beach, Florida
is located in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, just 15 minutes outside of Palm Beach International Airport. You’ve probably heard of the property because it’s home to the famed Champion Course and the PGA Tour Honda Classic. For the golfing fanatic, this is the ultimate vacation spot. (They have 90 holes of golf on five different courses!) Don’t forget to grab your swimsuit and get your spa treatments on at the PGA National Spa, which offers a variety of relaxing services. Once booked, you’re able to spend the day lounging alongside three different salt-water pools, all amid lush palm trees.
Sedona, Arizona
Sedona, Arizona, was recently voted one of the top U.S. destinations by users of TripAdvisor.com. The revered oasis is perfect for rest, relaxation and a surge of adventure. Just two hours north of Phoenix, Sedona’s picturesque red rock monoliths and cool mountain air are best experienced during the fall months. In October, Sedona offers warm, sunny days and cool, starry nights. Spend the days hiking, kayaking and even off-roading in Jeep tours. Though many hotel options are available (also look into home rentals), has a great location right along the Red Rock Scenic Byway. Many of the resort’s accommodations are suites, and all come with a cozy fireplace with a private balcony.
Fairlee, Vermont
Vermont is usually the go-to destination for avid skiers during winter, but it shouldn’t be overlooked for fall travels! Lake Morey Resort in Fairlee provides a great getaway for guests of all ages. Enjoy beautiful foliage as you take part in making your very own apple cider! After spending the day apple picking at nearby orchards, guests will “smash and sip” at the resort’s own refurbished hand-cranked cider press in its landscaped Mapleview Gardens. For those yearning for a more urban scene for their vacation, the obvious choice is Las Vegas. While it’s a welcoming destination year-round, October is a sweet spot for Sin City. October is warm by day and the pools are still open! At night, temperatures go as low as 54 degrees. If you’re heading there for Halloween, you know the nightclubs out there pull out all the stops for decor and costume contests.
