Obviously, you want to be dazzling your next date with your lips. Whether you go elegant, sexy or classic, here are some lip shades you should be trying!
Nude or very soft pink
Go traditionally sexy and flirty. It sends the message that you’re comfortable in your skin and easy-going. “An understated lip is great for a daytime date or you can pair it with a smoky eye for nighttime fun!” says Anna Phillips, founder of The Lash Lounge.

Red
Red lips will turn the heat up on any date so save this one for a romantic night out! There are no true rules for wearing this classic shade but there are a million different variations to choose from. “To help narrow down your choices, fairer skin tones tend to look best in the more orange-ish reds while darker skin tones look best in pinkish reds. If your skin tone is somewhere in the middle, true reds will suit you the best,” says Phillips.

Burgundy
A great alternative to the typical pink or red. The wine-stained look is sultry and easy to wear at any age. “To prevent from looking too vampy — unless that’s what you’re going for — line the lips in a shade or two darker and wear minimal eye makeup,” says Phillips.

Pretty in pink
Pink can be just as sexy — if not more — than red! For date night, choose a hot pink that says “kiss me.” Be careful when choosing a color. Bold pinks can easily become too bubblegum/teeny bopper so stay away from glossy finishes and cotton candy pinks. “Stay on the side of a deeper hot pink with a red undertone,” suggests Phillips.

Coffee
Coffee or beige tones are often overlooked for date night but are great for a laid-back evening. The trick when wearing colors in the brown family is to add a touch of gloss to make the lips pop.
“Add a shimmery eyeshadow to finish the look!” says Phillips.
