Thanks to these five, fall-friendly rooftop lounges around the country, sharing a sip and some high-level cuddling in some of our favorite cities will be a new holiday tradition.
The Rooftop, Los Angeles

High above Tinseltown, overlooking the stars of Hollywood’s Walk of Fame, is the swanky installment of the Standard Hotel. Clad in a retro color palette of bold primaries and sleek interior design, the rooftop lounge — appropriately called The Rooftop — uncorks all the necessities for a shimmering night in the City of Angels. Get cuddly in one of their waterbed pods or dance through the night on their red AstroTurf deck.
Fun fact: Also be sure to check out the rooftop Biergarten. Complete with delicious pretzels, sausages, strudels and beer on the acclaimed rooftop patio, Biergarten is sure to deliver a hefty dose of German culture.

Jonesing for a quick getaway in San Francisco? At Jones bar and restaurant, guests can breathe in the crisp city air thanks to their open terrace perched right near Union Square.
Fun fact: Jones serves some of the best signature cocktails in the city. We love the Front Porch cocktail, with Nolet’s gin, house-made rosemary syrup, lemon and cinnamon. It’s like the holidays in a cup.
Roof on theWit, Chicago

Chicago may be known as the Windy City, but few have truly embraced the chill during autumn months. Roof on theWit is one of the few with indoor-outdoor lounge space overlooking the city. It’s an ideal spot to unwind after work, or you can make it the last stop for a night out, thanks to their live DJs.
Fun fact: Given the grand size of Roof on theWit, there are many rooftop options to experience. If you want a quiet setting, head to the Hangover or indoor Living Room, offering front row-seats of epic city views.

Surrounded by national monuments in the country’s capital, it’s hard to not consider the P.O.V Rooftop Terrace as its own monument. Connected to the W Washington, D.C., and towering 11 floors high, P.O.V offers two outdoor bars in a classic setting only W hotels can deliver.
Fun fact: Even though P.O.V is open in the afternoon, we recommend heading there around sunset to catch a glimpse of the monument lights. P.O.V also takes reservations for parties of five or more at no charge.

Fun Fact: Owner Adam Block also runs the Ink48’s restaurant, PRINT. Indulge in a few decadent courses before heading up to the lounge.
