Party-perfect makeup

At the Met Ball in 2013, Rose Huntington-Whiteley totally nailed the rocker glam look. Here’s how to recreate her hair and makeup.

The hair tutorial

Supplies:

  • Flat iron
  • Brush
  • Comb
  • Bobby pins

Instructions:

1

Brush hair thoroughly and flat iron.Section off front of hair and backcomb (tease) the underside. Throw it forward, and hairspray in that direction. Grab the next section back and backcomb and hairspray the same way. Repeat one more time, making 3 total backcombed sections on the top of your head.

2

Take the last section (at the crown of your head) and lay it back. Lightly comb over to smooth any flyaways. Keeping a voluminous bubble, pin into place.

3

Repeat on the middle section, smoothing with a comb and pinning into place at the back of the head.

4

Take side pieces and bring them around to the back. These pieces should cover the pinned work you’ve already done. The idea is that you don’t see any bobby pins once the hairstyle is finished. You can twist hair over the pins or loop it around them.

5

Now smooth the front piece back and hair spray into place. All the hair should look gathered into one main area in the back of the head.

6

Smooth flyaways with hairspray and you’re finished!
