The perfect party look
The hair tutorial
Supplies:
- Comb
- 1-1/2 inch curling iron
- Hair clips (to hold curled hair while it cools)
- Shine pomade
- Bobby pins
- Hairspray
Instructions:
Begin by thoroughly brushing hair and make a deep side part. Smooth down both sides of hair with shine pomade.
Starting at the bang, take a 2-inch section of hair and curl under. Spray the underside of the bang area so it stays lifted and keeps volume. Clip curled hair into place, allowing it to cool, while you move onto the next section.
Continue to curl and clip hair, working downward, until all of your hair has been curled and clipped. Allow hair to stay in the clips for at least 10 minutes.
Slowly start removing clips and let curls down. Do not brush curls or alter their shape. You want curls to remain big, bouncy and smooth.
On the bulky side of your hair, section out the front bang area and include hair around the ear. You’ll style this area of hair last. On the opposite side, tuck hair behind the ear. Smooth on a small amount of shine pomade to each curled section. This will keep hair looking smooth and polished.
Taking a section at a time, follow each curl loop and pin the end of your hair up so that it appears you have a “bob” haircut. Be sure to hide the pins as you go — you don’t want any showing. Make sure the end of your hair is even all the way across (except for the front bang area). Adjust and add more bobby pins if needed.
Once all hair is pinned up, gently brush bang area in a big downward “loop” motion.
Lightly finger through the bang and front pieces (this will loosen the curls). Make sure these front pieces are hanging slightly lower than the rest of your hair.
Gently design the curls so they create a loopy wave effect. Finish off the look with hairspray!
