Voted one of the best places to live by CNN Money and NJ Monthly, the town of Berkeley Heights has a population of 13,345. Self-proclaimed as “a great place to live,” the town has an excellent school system, and over 40 percent of households have children under the age of 18. Thriving economically, the median family income is $150,105, according to the 2010 census. Offering a variety of recreational programs, Berkeley Heights has three swimming clubs and holds many special events at the beautiful Memorial Park. A very close-knit community, this pretty town even has a beautification committee.

Sharon, Massachusetts

The Sharon, Massachusetts, welcome sign states that it is “a nice place to live because it’s naturally beautiful,” and this could not be any truer of a statement. Looking as if it were cut straight from a magazine, this gorgeous small town is lined with trees and beaches. Among this family-friendly community’s population of nearly 18,000, 30 percent are children under 19, and nearly 50 percent of households have children living in them. It also has an impressive school system — 96 percent of Sharon’s high school graduates go on to higher-learning institutions. Located on a peninsula, this town has activities to suit a resident by land or sea. With a population of nearly 23,000, more than half of Bristol’s residents are made up of families.
