Homemade snacks for the school year

by

School is back in session, and that means we moms need to have homemade snacks at the ready. We picked our favorites for adding to a lunch box or serving up after school.

1. Strawberry and brownie kabobs

Half dessert, half sweet strawberries — this scrumptious snack will go over well with everyone.

2. Spicy hummus

Your kids may turn their noses up at hummus at first, but they’ll change their minds after just one bite. Use it to dip fresh veggies or crackers, and package in small plastic containers for school lunches.

3. Fruit and yogurt Popsicles

Make a big batch of these fruit and yogurt Popsicles and have them at the ready for after the long trek home from the bus stop.

4. Homemade granola bars

You’ve never had a granola bar until you’ve tasted one that’s homemade. Make these for your kids, and they’ll never eat a store-bought granola bar again.

5. No-bake carrot cake energy bites

These carrot cake energy bites are the perfect protein-packed snack for when the kids are craving something sweet. Plus, they’re no-bake, which means they’re quick and easy to throw together.

6. Peanut butter and strawberry smoothie

Whip up one of these mouth-watering smoothies for the kids when they get home from school. They’re sweet and satisfying, and they’re packed with enough protein to keep them going until dinner.
