When we think of vintage sweaters, most of us cast a nostalgic thought back to Bill Cosby’s character on The Cosby Show. We laughed and called it Grandma’s sweater.
t I’m here to confess my love for vintage — but specifically the vintage sweater, or depending on where you’re at, an old-looking yet retro-fly jumper. I actually own a fair share of them that I wear all year round and excessively more in the colder months. My vintage-sweater rotation has been pretty heavy lately, and that has compelled me to write about how to style and perfect your vintage pullover.

It’s important to keep it aesthetically pleasing by maintaining a structural balance in your silhouette. By that, I mean that you need to throw on your oversize, chunky knit sweater with a pair of leather leggings or form-fitting bottoms. (You don’t want to give off a grandma look, now do you?) It makes your style feel approachable but still chic and edgy. I also love to see it paired with a flirty, flouncy miniskirt to give it a playful look.
t If you’re like me and you change your outfits more than once a day (of course, not every day), then a vintage jumper is the perfect base. You can wear your boyfriend or skinny jeans by day and do an instant change to something sexier by night.
