t Congrats! You are in your third month of achieving your savings goals! Keep checking in and adding to your pile of cash!

t New goals for March:

Automate savings

t Look into setting up an automated savings account. You won’t even notice the money is gone because it is out of your mind before you can spend it. Try setting up your paycheck so money is automatically filtered to your travel fund, your emergency savings or your Roth IRA (this is on top of your 401K!). You will be surprised how even $50 can help you on your way to financial security.

Insurance discounts

t Did you know you can get discounts on insurance? Check with your insurance company to see if you qualify for yearly discounts. I take an online driving course every three years to reduce my car insurance by 10 percent. If you have boat insurance, one easy eight-hour certification class should get you 10 percent off the yearly rate, for life. This also is a good time to reassess your insurance in general, to see if you really have the best rate. Call your agent now!

Setting priorities

t You need to figure out what is most important to you. Would you rather have three crazy expensive weekends or two crazy weekends and money in your emergency fund? When you start to think about your choices differently, you can still enjoy life. Small adjustments can lift you out of debt faster, help you save for your vacation or just allow you to reassess your spending.
