Casual with the perfect touch of girly.
t Two of my favorite trends right now, besides the beloved floral, are anchors and lace, so naturally when I locked eyes with this shirt it found a home in my closet.

The outfit
t My husband was on a mission for shoes so we ended up in Zumiez, and to be honest, I don’t typically shop for my clothes at skate shops. Being the shopaholic that I am I also don’t discriminate, so I let my eyes explore wherever I see fabric on hangers. I spotted this shirt and thought of all the possibilities: jeans, lace shorts, even a maxi skirt. Believe it or not, the inspiration for this outfit was actually the necklace. Yes, that simple little gold bar around my neck. I went with jeans to keep it casual like the necklace, and then paired it with my favorite heels to give it a bit of femininity and style. I love jeans and a T-shirt with simple heels. It’s the perfect shoe choice to add a little extra girly to the casual.

t I’ll let you in on a little secret about me: Mismatching my belt and shoes is wayout of my comfort zone. Don’t get me wrong, I am all about taking fashion risks and thinking outside the box, but that is just one of those things I’m a bit old fashioned about; however, I’m starting to embrace it and I actually really liked this pink belt with the nude shoes. Do you have a fashion “rule” like that? For example, not wearing white after Labor Day, matching your shoes to your belt or handbag, etc. If so, I challenge you to step outside your comfort zone.
Where to wear it
t This was a Sunday afternoon outfit for me. I ran errands all day in it and might have even had a little lunch date with my better half. This could easily be transitioned into a cute evening outfit with the girls by swapping the jeans for cream lace shorts and adding a chunky statement necklace. There isn’t much in life that excites me more than a super-easy day-to-night transition.
