t I will admit, it isn’t a piece of cake. And it’s surely not something you would want to do while getting dressed in the dark or a last-minute outfit decision right before dashing out to work or an event. No — mixing prints requires some thought but surprisingly not too much. I’m here to show you how to keep it simple and somewhat easy.

t Since mixing prints is something I love to do on occasion, I thought I’d demonstrate three ways to make it work for the everyday girl. Before you check this post out, I just ask that you have an open mind and grasp what’s really in your wardrobe and how you can make it work for you. Ready? Let’s go!
Outfit #1: Wild side
t If you’re feeling adventurous, try mixing two dominant prints together to make a bold statement. The key is making sure your separates share at least two or three mutual colors. Taking on another fall trend — camo. I paired it with a snakeskin-printed skirt with similar colors. By belting the casual, rugged jacket, it helped to blend in a more chic way and looks more polished with the skirt. It definitely brings out your inner safari side.

Outfit #2: Floral party
t Mixing a print in the same family is one of the easiest ways to wear the trend. When you are keeping everything in the same family, the steps are less complicated and more cohesive. One of my favorite patterns and a look that has strong staying power is the floral print. Here I kept the top part of my outfit in the same color scheme and the bottom is darker with smaller flowers. When you have a busy outfit like this, you want to make sure to keep the accessories and shoes simple.

Outfit #3: Black and white
t Another easy way to mix prints is donning none other than classic stripes. Stripes can go with just about anything. I love stripes with floral, polka dots and other abstract prints. The color palette for this look is all black and white. What can really go wrong with mixing these two colors? And did you know your necklaces with those fun designs and multicolor statements can be used when styling a mixed print outfit. In this ensemble, I used this jeweled bib necklace as a third print to go along with my printed blazer and striped dress. Voila, three prints in one!
