Female veterans walk the runway for a moving Fashion Week show

by

We’re used to seeing big name designers and supermodels strut their stuff down the runways at Fashion Week, but today we’re taking inspiration from some pretty extraordinary women who are not from the fashion industry.

At the Salute The Runway fashion show this week, 14 beautiful veterans from all branches of the armed services walked the runway in serious style. The event was sponsored by Little Black Dress Wines and Fatigues to Fabulous (F2F), a campaign that emotionally and financially assists America’s military women.

In a week that’s filled with consumerism and larger-than-life beauty and fashion looks, it’s certainly refreshing to see some everyday heroes getting a glamorous moment in the spotlight. From current to former armed services members, these ladies showed the audience what real beauty is all about in their array of ensembles.

There were elegant LBD moments.

Of course, there were many inspiring moments.

Model Hilary Rhoda even stopped by to give the ladies some modeling pointers.

We’re sure to see a lot of shows this week, but one thing’s for sure: We’re definitely most inspired by this one.
