This Halloween, decorate your home with an easy and fun candy corn-themed garland.
Halloween candy corn garland
Size: adjustable (each triangle measures 5.5 x 6.5 cm approx.)
Abbreviations:
ch: chain
sl st: slip stitch
sc: single crochet
scdec: single crochet decrease
st(s): stitch(es)
Materials:
- 100 percent cotton yarn in orange, white, yellow (I used Schachenmayr Catania for the sample)
- Size 2.5 (1/B) and 3.5mm (E) crochet hook
- Stitch marker (optional)
The Pattern
Candy corn triangle (makes 10)
With yellow yarn and 3.5 mm (E) hook, ch 15.
R1: sc in second ch from hook, ch 1, turn, (14)
R2: sc dec, 10 sc, sc dec, (12)
R3: sc in each ch (12)
Change to orange yarn.
R4: sc dec, 8 sc, sc dec, (10)
R5: sc in each ch (10)
R6: sc dec, 6 sc, sc dec, (8)
R7: sc in each ch (8)
R8: sc dec, 4 sc, sc dec, (6)
R9: sc in each ch (6)
R10: sc dec, 2 sc, sc dec, (4)
R11: sc in each ch (4)
Change to white yarn.
R12: sc dec, sc dec, (2)
R13: sc in each ch (2)
R14: sc dec, (1)
Fasten off. Weave in any remaining ends.
I highly recommend you block your triangles; otherwise, they might look a bit wonky.
Assembly:
Using white yarn and 2.5 mm (1/B) hook, ch 10, sl st to first ch from hook (this creates your loop for hanging), ch 25, take your first triangle and sc in each st at the top of the triangle (14 sc), ch 20 and repeat with the next triangle. Do this until complete. Upon single crocheting your last triangle, ch 25, place marker, ch 10 and sl st in the stitch where you placed the marker.
Fasten off.
