How to throw the ultimate burger bonanza

by

?For as long as I can remember, one of the biggest hits at all home parties I attend is a burger bar.

t

t Whether it’s eating mini sliders during the big football game, grilling them out in the summer while relaxing with friends in the sun or loading up a juicy beef sandwich with unique toppings once winter’s cool temperatures arrive, this taste bud pleaser is a constant year-round hit! To take this traditional party food to new levels, follow these simple steps and watch as your burger-based event becomes the best of the bunch.

Get fresh

t Take advantage of seasonal fresh produce items that are dripping with flavor. With each passing month, too many amazing unique foods go unnoticed (mostly because many of us aren’t sure how to incorporate them into our meals) so now is the time to take advantage of the not-so-typical foods and display them on the buffet. Guests will love nibbling on new flavors that you experiment with such as portobello mushrooms, roasted butternut squash, radishes or even a new variety of juicy tomato before the burgers are made. And (bonus) all this fresh produce packs a major punch of health.

t

Bring on the delectable dips

t Wow guests by setting out a wide array of drool-worthy dips. Not only are these great to dunk veggies such as sliced colorful peppers, cucumbers or crackers in, but they also serve as great toppings for those who are craving a delicious new flavor on their burger. Incorporate a crowd-pleaser such as Hidden Valley Ranch seasoning with 16 ounces of sour cream, a dash of cayenne pepper and a sprinkle of fresh parsley for a fresh tasty twist on a traditional classic.

t

Sides, sides, sides

t Don’t forget about the other important part of the buffet, the side dishes. Instead of regular fries, try serving spicy guacamole with lime chips, baked and lightly seasoned sweet potato fries or whole pieces of fresh fruit for those who are looking for something juicy and sweet.

t

It’s all about the presentation!

t When it comes to burger bars, more is more. Display overflowing platters of veggies, dips or fruits and watch as guests get creative on their own. And, try incorporating a few fun serving pieces such as bamboo skewers tied in a knot or a Mason jar tied with bakers twine to house your serving utensils.

t

t Sit back, relax and enjoy your burger bonanza.
