The Golden Horseshoe
The most densely populated portion of Canada, the Golden Horseshoe is centred around the Greater Toronto Area and includes many of the region’s suburbs, like Ajax, Huntsville and Muskoka (though, most people believe the Horseshoe stretches all the way from Windsor to Québec’s border). The area is home to Toronto, Canada’s largest city, as well as Ontario’s wine region and Niagara Falls. It also covers a large swath of Canada’s cottage country, including Peterborough, Barrie and Georgian Bay. The region is liberally minded and is the most ethnically diverse in the country.
