The Prairies
Encompassing Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta, this conservative-minded region has a rich history of farming and “living off the land.” A visit here promises unbelievable sunsets and views as far as the eye can see, including rolling hills, areas laden with wheatgrass and one or two glimpses of prairie dogs. The region is also rich in First Nations culture, where many settlements still stand. In Alberta, you’ll find cowboy culture (thanks to the Calgary Stampede) and a province that thrives because of its oil supplies. You can also hike the Canadian Rockies.
