Hull/Chelsea/Wakefield Steam Train
One of Canada’s last remaining authentic steam-powered trains, the Hull/Chelsea/Wakefield Steam Train was built in 1907. Travelers can take a half-day (five-hour) excursion which winds 64 kilometres along the Gatineau River through the Gatineau hills to the village of Wakefield, where there is a two-hour stopover, and then back to Hull.
During the stop in Wakefield the 93-ton train will pivot on the last operating manual turntable in the country – must see! Along with the sound of the locomotive itself, the trip is enhanced by the tour guides and musicians who join the rail trip. Choose from the Scenic Tour, Sunset Dinner Train, or register for a Sunday Brunch or Fall Foliage special excursion!
