Plan what you pack
If you are going abroad make sure to pack copies of your passport and leave extra credit cards at home. Consider getting travelers checks and currency for your destination. Make sure you go to the bank a few weeks ahead of time to order these.
If you’re taking a road trip, make sure to pack your car with kids games, DVD’s, music or whatever you need to keep them busy on your drive. Also bring plenty of snacks and supplies incase there are any weather conditions.
have gifts, packages, luggage Delivered
Sending gifts to your destination is easier than hauling them on the plane or in your car, where they might get bent and smashed. So if you are pressed for space have your send your gifts ahead of time — some stores will take care of that for you free of charge. The same goes for luggage — baggage fees can add up quick, so if you are going on a long trip, it might be more cost efficient to have your luggage shipped.
Plan rides and parking early
Finding rides around the holidays can be difficult when everyone is busy with their own plans, so remember to plan rides early. Ask your friends or family for rides as soon as you have your trip planned out, and remember to remind them before your departure date.
If you are parking at the airport make sure to research which lots have the lowest daily price. Also clear out your car of all belongings that you won’t be taking with you before you head to the airport — this will deter break-ins.
If you don’t have a garage, it is also a great idea to clear out your car if it going to be parked in a driveway or in front of your home for a long time.
