Keeping an organized craft space can often be a challenge, but it doesn’t have to be. An easy solution might be closer than you realize. We’ve got some handy and unexpected craft storage ideas that can be found right in your own home.
Paper towel holder
Keep your spools of ribbons and trims tidy by popping them onto a paper towel holder. This allows for easy access, and you can see all your ribbons at a glance. A wall-mount or under-the-counter model is perfect for keeping the ribbons up and out of the way, while a stand-up model, such as the Umbra one pictured from Bed Bath & Beyond, is great when you need to move it from place to place.
Dish drainage rack
This inexpensive piece can do more than just hold dishes — it also makes a handy mobile supply caddy. The divided plate holders will keep papers, card stock, stickers and other embellishments organized, while the cutlery holder makes a great place to store a few pens or scissors. They’re easy to find in whatever size and style you need, but this one from Ikea would be a good choice for stashing everything needed for card making or scrapbooking.

Shower caddy
If you like how it keeps your products organized in the shower, imagine what it can do for your craft supplies! Simply hang it on the wall to keep supplies out of the way but still within easy reach. The shelves can be used to store paints, brushes, glue, tape, glitter and pretty much anything else you can think of, and you can add hooks to the bottom to hang scissors, small pails of pens or other supplies. The one pictured is simple yet functional and available at Home Depot.
Muffin tins
To keep your beads, buttons, jewels and other small items handy and organized, look no further than your kitchen cupboard. There you will find a muffin tin that can double as a craft storage container. Larger items can be stored and separated in a full-size muffin tin, while smaller trinkets and decorations would fit into a mini muffin-size pan. For a fun addition to your craft area, look for one in a pretty colour, such as this one from Home Hardware.
