Trendy fall nail colours

If you want a mani that’s perfect for the fall season, you need to look beyond the classic French manicure. Gone are the days of pale nails, and in are fun, bright, bold colours. From novel textures to must-try nail art to exciting collections, a lot of new manicure trends are coming this fall. Take a sneak peek.

Nail collections:

Orly’s Fall 2013 Surreal Collection: This fun collection is full of pinks, purples and, of course, glitter polish. The collection consists of six nail polishes that are in line with this fall’s new trends. It’s set to launch in the U.S. and Canada in August 2013. Want a peek of the shades? Check out Nail Candy 101.

China Glaze’s Autumn Nights Collection: This new collection, launching in August 2013, features 12 brand new colours. The collection has a mix of shimmer and creamy, matte textures as well as sophisticated shades of blue and purple. Want a peek of the shades? Check out Fashion’s Passion.

OPI’s San Francisco Collection: Set to launch in August 2013, this new collection introduces 15 new nail polish colours. The collection takes inspiration from fashion city San Francisco and includes shades of blue, chocolate brown and other earth tones. Want a peek of the shades? Check out Fashion Magazine.

Nail art trends:

3-D manicures: If you want to be a part of the more out-there upcoming fall trends, then 3-D manicures are where it’s at. Everything from jewels to studs to feather appliqués are in style for the fall season. It’s a step above some of the exciting new textures that have been appearing on the market, and this bold look will make your manicure the talk of the office.

Textures: Since OPI’s launch of its Texture Coats and Liquid Sand finishes, the popularity of textured nails has continued to grow. Glitter nails will still be a trend this fall, and exciting new combinations and finishes will take your manicure from typical to amazing.

Reverse French manicure: If you like the look of the classic French manicure but want to try something a little different, test out the reverse French manicure. It’s still a classic look that can work for the office and evenings, but with a fun twist. Instead of painting your nail tips a different colour as you would with the classic version, paint a half moon near your cuticles, and there’s your reverse manicure.

Nail colours:

Metallic: From silver to gold, metallic nail colours and finishes will be seen all over the office this fall. A coat or two of metallic polish makes just enough statement for nails to get noticed, without being too in your face. What to try? China Glaze Awaken

Bright orange tones: Work with the colours of the season, and rock a stunning bright orange manicure. You can incorporate all earth tones and look to the changing leaves for inspiration. The weather turning drab doesn’t mean boring tans and browns on your nails. What to try? Essie Orange, It’s Obvious

Eggplant: This deep purple shade is a great alternative to black, and it fits in perfectly with the new fall trends. This colour works with all nail shapes and skin tones and can complement any outfit. What to try? OPI Vant to Bite My Neck?
