The colour pink gets a bad rap when it comes to home decor. It is typically reserved for little girls’ rooms or brings up bad memories of your grandma’s pink-and-mint-tiled bathroom. But pink doesn’t have to be reserved for children or outdated decor. The feminine hue can pack a punch in any space and add that perfect hint of colour to make your space pop.

Take some inspiration from Valentine’s Day to add a little interest to your home. While pink is typically considered a girlie colour, you can incorporate it into your home without looking like you got your inspiration from Barbie. Darker hues, like fuchsia, can have more of a mature vibe to them if you’re worried about your living room looking like a nursery. Living room

When you are decorating a common area, think subtle hints of pinks mixed with neutral tones and more masculine textures. It isn’t a focal point of your home, so feel free to go bold and add some accessories and colours you might not use otherwise. Lighter shades of pink can evoke a vintage powder room feel, while brighter colours or prints can add some whimsy to a bland space.
