You’ll never guess who outbid Beyoncé and Jay Z on this Beverly Hills estate

What does Minecraft creator Markus “Notch” Persson have that Beyoncé and Jay Z don’t? One of the most technologically advanced pads in the famous Trousdale Estates.

What is officially known as the highest real estate transaction in Beverly Hills history, Persson is said to have won a bidding war against Mr. and Mrs. Carter thanks to offering $70 million in cash without contingencies and cases of Dom Perignon, which seemingly the hip-hop royal duo couldn’t live up to. Which is kind of surprising, knowing that the couple’s net worth comes in at a whopping $1 billion. But Mr. Persson tops Bey and Jay again, with a net worth of $1.5 billion. Evidently, creating video games pays way more than we thought it did.

The 22,300-square-foot house the Swedish billionaire now calls home makes Minecraft look like a baby’s toy. The mansion, which has eight bedrooms and 15 bathrooms each equipped with Toto Neorest toilets, is accommodated by an infinity pool adorned with iPad-controlled fountains and magnificent Malibu Beach views. Inside, you’ll find an awesome candy room, car showroom, screening room, vodka and tequila bars. To top it off, the sale of the house included a replica of James Dean’s motorcycle, as well as an 18-foot onyx dining room table with Roberto Cavalli place settings. And who said video games won’t get you anywhere in life?
