Will Felicity Jones wear black to the Academy Awards next month? It’s a look she’s gone for time and time again — and it works.
Whether or not she wins the Best Actress Oscar for her role as Stephen Hawking’s first wife Jane in The Theory of Everything, Felicity Jones’s career is about to go stratospheric.
She’s come a long way since she played school bully Ethel Hallow in the first TV series of The Worst Witch. Since then the 31-year-old has appeared in Chalet Girl, The Invisible Woman and The Amazing Spider-Man 2, as well as indie hit Like Crazy, for which she received the Gotham Independent Film Award for Breakthrough Actor (2011), the Sundance Film Festival Special Jury Prize (2011) and the Empire Award for Best Female Newcomer (2012).

With critical acclaim comes greater media exposure, of course, and all eyes have been on Felicity at red carpet events over the last 12 months. One indisputable style rule she seems to follow is that sometimes you just can’t go wrong with a black dress.

Felicity’s first red carpet event of 2015 was the 26th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala. She wore a Monique Lhuillier navy-blue and black gown with lace detail, styled with a navy clutch and Cartier jewellery.
