Best breakup pamper treatments

If you’re in the depths of the post-break-up blues, there’s nothing quite like a beauty treatment and mini makeover to perk you right up! From facial masks to body scrubs, give these DIY makeover ideas a go and you’ll be feeling better than ever!

Break-ups can be hard. And if they come out of the blue or in unsavoury circumstances, they can be even more difficult to get through. But once we’ve waited out the low moments and come to see the light at the end of the tunnel, we often realise how resilient we are and it gives us confidence that we can survive pretty much anything life throws at us. But how can you make it through a break-up with confidence and emotions still intact? Try these simple steps to boost your self-esteem and put a smile on your face.

Spend some time alone

This will help you to face your demons and deal with your feelings properly, instead of just distracting yourself with people and social events.

Be prepared to sit it out

They say that time heals all. And although you may think there’s no chance you’ll ever get over him, we assure you, you will. It’s all just a matter of time.

Surround yourself with supportive people

Your friends and family will be there for you and will show you how much you are loved. Spend some quiet time just hanging out and chatting with them. Reconnect with old friends if you’ve lost touch while being in a relationship.

Find new hobbies

Exploring your interests and discovering new talents can help rebuild your self-esteem if it’s been damaged in a break-up. Think about what makes you happy, and take it one step further by joining a club or a team, or endeavouring to do it on a regular basis. Love running? Join a weekly running club. Treat yourself

Another great way to cheer yourself up and boost your self-confidence is by pampering yourself in the beauty department. We’ve all had a friend who’s gone for a dramatic haircut after a break-up and loved it, but if you’re more into subtle changes, then try these natural face masks and body scrubs to perk yourself up.

Pamper yourself with the following purse-friendly home beauty treatments and you’ll be feeling ready to get off that couch and welcome the world with open arms.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of olive oil
  • 2-1/2 cups of sugar
  • 2-3 tablespoons of lemon juice

Directions:

  1. Pour all of the ingredients into a bowl and whisk them together.
  2. Massage the scrub onto your neck and body, taking the time to exfoliate your skin with the sugar granules (but be gentle!).

  4. Lather your skin with moisturiser and you’ll feel refreshed, smooth and beautiful.

Tip: Experiment with the scent and try replacing the lemon juice with vanilla.
