Made590
Based in Sydney, Made590 is a one-stop shop for all things quirky and fun. Catering for just about everyone (including the kiddies), the store reflects owner Christina Kelly’s passion for the bright, colourful, fun side of retail. And wait for it — Made590 also represents really cool brands from across the world. Many of the designers stocked by Made590 have a strong graphic design influence and the lines carried in-store are select, unique and oftentimes a one-off. So get in there quick — fashion collections are generally limited ranges and are available for a short time only. Want to find out more about who, exactly, Made590 is? Check out their Instagram (careful, it’s addictive).

Monsterthreads
You only have to click on the Monsterthreads link to realise that this is a store with some serious funk about it. The core product line is Monsterthreads’ sweatshop-free art-infused t-shirt line, but Monsterthreads is also a product rep for amazing international design groups such as Bucketfeet artist footwear from the U.S. Like co-founder and director Mark says, “Monsterthreads is about bringing world-class art and design into your wardrobe, living room, office desk, or more generally, into your everyday life.” Join the Monster list for VIP nights, parties, free gifts and specials.
Kinki Gerlinki
Kinki Gerlinki is an independently-owned label with a love of bright colours, loud prints and all things that shimmer. All designs are developed at the Kinki Headquaters in Melbourne and customers can expect some fun perks both in-store and online, from sales to knickers (yep, knickers) give-aways! Put simply, Kinki Gerlinki is a fashion destination for the fearless customer. As online manager Jessica Olanda says, “Despite what others may say there are no rules in fashion. Wear what you love and don’t be afraid to make a statement.”
Me&Yu
Currently available online and in select boutiques worldwide, Manchester-based Me&Yu is a small fashion label with big creativity. Me&Yu “create clothes made with love that you’ll love to wear”, says designer/owner Angie Hulme. Designs are inspired by animals, imaginary worlds, symbolism and inspiring quotes. The core-range of products is made up of unisex t-shirts and sweatshirts, with some limited edition handmade items for guys and girls, as well as a range of accessories. All designs are screen-printed by hand, which means that no two are the same! And we have some great news: Me&Yu will be coming to Sydney around mid-September 2013! We can’t wait!
Gingerbread Shop
Okay so we’re a little in love with Australian-owned store the Gingerbread Shop. With some designs made by the team and some of them specially chosen, the Gingerbread Shop has a great selection for both guys and girls. For the ladies, think printed knits, vintage polka dot pieces, retro dresses, floral skirts and amazing high-waisted pants. And for the guys? Great day-to night relaxed pieces with just a hint of Gatsby. Owner Marc De Sanctis says it best: “We are very excited about fashion and try to bring that excitement to the world as best we can.”
Mazi
Effie Evriniadis, designer and creative director of Melbourne-based label Mazi, is driven by her love of fashion and the desire to address what is missing from her own wardrobe. Today’s fashion-savvy woman looks beyond fads and trends for more timeless pieces that are also affordable, and this is what Mazi is about, says Effie. Effie’s feminine, elegantly-layered signature pieces reflect her love of antique lace, exotic beading and colour. And get ready for some serious shopping — the team at Mazi has created an exclusive code for SheKnows readers which entitles you to a 20 per cent discount when you spend as little as $69! This code will be accepted on the Mazi website and will be valid for three months. Enter voucher code GV4788964 at checkout.
