Doggy Fantastic

What is it? Grab your pup — you’re going camping! Doggy Fantastic is a camping weekend for family and dogs. Admission is just $50 for the weekend and the proceeds go to Variety Children’s charity for a special child to receive an assistance dog. There are loads of things to do, including watching a dog movie under the stars. Click here for more info.

Santa Paws

What is it? Tell your pooch to get his wish list ready, because Santa is coming to the RSPCA this November! To get your pet’s photo taken with Mr. Claus, head over to the RSPCA Queensland website for more info.

When and where? Nov., 2013, at RSPCA Centres around Queensland.

RSPCA Million Paws Walk

What is it? The RSPCA’s Million Paws Walk isn’t your ordinary stroll in the park. Not only will over 15,000 people and 10,000 animals be participating, but the event will raise money for the RSPCA’s care of more than 30,000 animals entering their shelters each year. Head over to the Million Paws Walk Queensland website for more information and to register (registration opens early 2014).

When and where? 2014, in locations around Queensland.

Santa Paws

What is it? Okay, so we’re a little excited that Santa is coming to the RSPCA this November. Finally, an excuse to break out the Christmas-sy puppy outfit (as if we needed an excuse!). Bookings are now open, so head over to the RSPCA ACT website to reserve your spot and get your pup’s photo taken with Santa.

When and where? Santa Paws events will be held at the RSPCA ACT on the following dates:

  • Saturday, Nov. 10 at 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • Thursday, Nov. 15 at 3:30 p.m.-6 p.m. (While cats and small animals are welcome at any time, part of Thursday’s session will be dog-free for those shy types.)
  • Sunday, Nov. 18 at 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

RSPCA Million Paws Walk

What is it? Don your walking shoes and dress up your pup in her fanciest collar — it’s time to take part in the RSPCA’s Million Paws Walk. Funds raised from this nationwide event will go towards the RSPCA’s care of more than 30,000 animals entering their shelters each year. Head over to the Million Paws Walk ACT website for more information and to register (registration opens early 2014).
