Blogger Kate Thompson was asked to test out and review one of Aldi’s skincare products, LACURA Multi-Intensive Serum. Find out what she thought about this budget-friendly skin care product.
Will she love it or leave it?
Perfect for busy mums
In the past two years, I’ve cried more, laughed more, stressed more, lived more and aged more than ever before. I’ve become a multi-tasking, budget-stickling, bargain-finding, label-reading and Google-researching expert. Yep, I’m a mum.
When it comes to my beauty regimen, I need a product that suits my new lifestyle. I recently tried the Lacura Multi Intensive Serum and I’m happy to report that it received this mum’s tick of approval.
Voted number one
Like a lot of mums, I go online to research my options. Not only does Lacura Multi Intensive Serum get top reviews from customers on a number of local sites, it was voted the number one anti-ageing serum in the U.K. in 2010. Tick.
What’s in it?
Because I want the best for my family, I’m becoming an expert at reading labels. Lacura Multi Intensive Serum contains Mimox, a leading anti-ageing peptide, as well as vitamins C and E, which stimulate the replacement of collagen and elastin. It is dermatologically tested and has been developed from the latest scientific information. Tick.
Budget-friendly
Believe it or not, Lacura Multi Intensive Serum is part of the skin care and beauty range that is exclusive to Aldi. Given that tidbit of information, you are already expecting it to be affordable, but get this — it retails for $9.99 for 50 millilitres. Budget, bargain, tick, tick.
Convenient
With limited time — and personal space — I need a product that is practical and can multi-task. The Lacura Renew Multi Intensive Serum comes in a small glass bottle with a pump. It is a convenient size to travel with and the pump means curious and grubby fingers can’t contaminate it. The fragrance is light and sweet and not overpowering at all.
The application process couldn’t be easier. The light cream gel can be used daily — morning or night — and one pump is enough for the entire face and neck area. It is best used straight after cleansing. While normal day/night creams or sunscreens can be applied once it has soaked into the skin, I found I didn’t need anything else, particularly at night. The Lacura Multi Intensive Serum is appropriate for all skin types and left my dry, sensitive skin feeling soft and hydrated all day. My skin definitely feels more nourished and looks smoother, which is particularly nice around my developing frown smile lines. Big tick.
The verdict
I will definitely be heading back to Aldi to purchase more products in the Lacura range.
