How Queensland is preparing for the worst weather event in two years

Prepare yourself, Queenslanders. Cyclone Marcia is on its way and it’s bringing the biggest weather event the state has seen in two years.

It doesn’t take much for Queenslanders to remember what it’s like to go through harsh weather conditions. Cyclones, flash flooding — they’ve become a regular disturbance that you learn to live with and prepare for.

Tropical Cyclone Marcia is set to hit across the central Queensland coast on Friday morning, while Cyclone Lam has hit the Northern Territory, but people are keeping their senses of humour in the lead-up to what has been called the biggest weather event in Queensland in the last two years.
