2015 Oscars carpet proves whites and nudes will be all the rage

Sorry, black: Celebs were all about lightening things up at the 2015 Oscars. Whites and neutrals were the dominating colors on the red carpet. Does this mean that spring and summer will be all about the lighter hues? We hope so, judging from these gorgeous gowns.

1. Lupita Nyong’o

It took 6,000 pearls to make Lupita Nyong’o’s custom Calvin Klein gown. Worth. Every. Pearl.

Our favorite friend might have been snubbed for an Oscar, but she definitely shined on the red carpet in a sparkly Versace gown.

Marion Cotillard never follows the fashion norm… and we couldn’t love her Christian Dior gown more. Though, it wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea.

Is Julianne Moore never not perfect? Nope, and her custom Chanel gown proves it.

12. Viola Davis

Viola Davis might be a murderer on her hit show How To Get Away With Murder, but we’d kill to get our hands on this Zac Posen gown. OK, kidding. Maybe.
