Paint a pretty watercolor clock

Grab your paintbrush and a few watercolors and transform an ordinary wall clock into a piece of art you’ll be proud to display.

Supplies:

  • Clock
  • Watercolor paper
  • Watercolor paint
  • Paint palette
  • Paintbrush
  • Scissors
  • Pen
  • Spray adhesive

Directions:

1. Take the clock apart

Carefully disassemble the clock, removing any glass and the hands from the clock.

2. Trace the face

Trace around the face of the clock on the watercolor paper, then cut out the circle. Make sure you also cut out a small circle in the center of the paper.

3. Paint the clock

Mix up your watercolor paints. Paint over the entire circle with plain water to get it wet, then start painting on the paper with the watercolor paint. Once you are happy with the look, set it aside to dry.

4. Glue the face

Apply a thin layer of spray adhesive to the back of the newly painted clock face, then stick it on the clock over the original clock face.

5. Put it back together

Reassemble the clock pieces now that the new clock face is in place.

6. Hang it up

Once the clock is back together, put a battery in it. It is ready to hang on the wall.
