Make your own felt diffuser necklace

Do you love the boost you get throughout the day from wearing your essential oils? Whether you use essential oils to be relaxed or energized, now you can wear them in style by making your own felted wool diffuser necklace.

Supplies:

  • Wool roving
  • Soap
  • Glass bowl
  • Bead caps
  • Jewelry pins
  • Scissors
  • Pliers
  • Necklace chain

Directions:

1. Fill a bowl

Fill a bowl with a few drops of dish soap and some very warm water. Make sure that the water is not too hot to touch.

2. Wet the roving

Take a small piece of roving in your hand and submerge it in the warm soapy water.

3. Roll a ball

Gently roll the roving between the palms of your hands until a dense ball forms. The soap will keep the wool together once it is dry. Let the ball dry for several hours before moving on to the next step.

4. Make the pendant

Start making the pendant by sliding one of the bead caps onto one of the jewelry pins.

5. Add the wool

Carefully slide the wool ball onto the jewelry pin, then add the second bead cap. You might have to twist the pin slightly to work the pin through the wool.

6. Create the loop

Leave about 1/4 inch of the jewelry pin above the top bead cap and cut away any excess with scissors. Grab a pair of jewelry pliers and bend a loop in the jewelry pin, then slide the necklace chain through the loop of the necklace.

7. Add essential oil

Put a few drops of essential oil on the wool. The wool will absorb the oil and gently diffuse its scent all day while you wear your beautiful essential oil diffuser necklace.
