My family loves to bowl — like, in a big way. When I was younger, my mother was on a league and I thought it was the coolest thing. Once I got a car, my friends and I would race out of high school and spend the entire afternoon running around Manhattan, and yes, we’d hit up a lane at least once a week. Huge part of my life.
So, it makes complete sense that I continued to bowl after having children. My two oldest have birthdays in June and July. We thought it would be fun to get a few of their friends together for two hours of bowling on an easy Sunday, and I booked the entire party using AMF’s new online system. What a breeze!

Basically, you say what kind of party you are having and how many children will bowl. Then you type in your zip code and choose your bowling alley.

The screen above shows the point where you’ll pick which type of party you’d like to set up. AMF can supply a birthday cake if it’s needed, or you can simply bring one on your own. If you just want to have a great night out with friends, there’s options for that as well! You can rent lanes for two hours at a time and reserve your time with ease. I just love this! No more worrying if you will find availability once you get to your location. And everything will be ready for you when you arrive.

P.S. With the birthday party packages, the children each get a $5 certificate to use on a future visit. How fun!
As soon as I finished booking my party online, I regretted not picking a longer-duration package and wondered if I could make edits to my reservation. I called the number on my confirmation email, and after a quick discussion with an AMF team member, I added in 30 minutes to the Remarka-Bowl package and called it a day. That meant that the children would each receive a drink and a pizza plus enjoy two hours of bowling. So fun!
Once the kids arrived, I realized that I underestimated my count, but it was very simple to add the new names onto my contract. The adults looked a little hungry, so I ordered some appetizers for the group. Everything was so simple because we had a party coordinator assigned to us. She made sure our drink pitchers were constantly filled and any order I wanted to put in the kitchen was sent in ASAP. Very attentive — and completely one-on-one.
The kids had a wonderful Sunday afternoon with friends! They loved the game itself… with the cool lighting, glowing balls and competition with friends. It’s such a great time for them to toss those balls down the lane. The satisfaction you see on their faces when they get a spare or a strike is simply priceless. They even loved the big screens next to the lanes showing all the latest kid-friendly pop songs they always hear on the radio (is that what so-and-so looks like?). It really added to the party atmosphere.
After they bowled, it was nice to relax, chat and eat some good food… check, check and check. Everyone had a ball, and we can’t wait to go back again. The kids are asking if they can have their next birthday parties there now!
