How to create your authentic life

As a serial entrepreneur, I have had the opportunity to recreate my life four times. I find it exhilarating to choose what I am going to do with each chapter of my life. I have a strong desire to have control over my life and to be able to wake up each day to do something that I love.

Each business I started was a special part of me. As a passionate gardener, I started my own landscape design and installation business. As a mother of small children, I chose to run an at-home day care so I could stay home with my kids.

As my kids got older, I started another landscape business so I could have control over the hours I worked. I wanted to be able to be there when they got off the school bus.

When landscaping became too physical of a job for me, I decided I wanted to open a bakery. I specialized in gluten-free bakery products. I spent a year teaching myself how to bake gluten-free. Trust me when I say it is not like baking with wheat!

During that time, I went back to school and got my degree in Hospitality Management and Entrepreneural Studies. This training allowed me to start a cottage-based bakery, which I ran for two years. I was never able to get it to a store front. That’s not to say that it was a failure. The economy was still dragging at the time. I moved on to working as a baker for other businesses.

I was doing what I loved each minute of each day. I was living my authentic life. I still am.

I am at a point in my life where I want to share my experience and knowledge with you. I know each of you has something you would love to do, but you don’t know how to go about making it happen. Many of you have run across challenging areas.

Are you having a difficult time finding enough time to get everything done on your to-do list?

Do you dream of taking something you love doing and turning it into a profitable business?

I can help you answer these questions. The best part of working toward your authentic self is it doesn’t feel like work. When you are doing something you enjoy, it feels more like play. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to spend your days doing what you love?

I am going to be blogging about doing just that. Along the way, I am going to encourage you to find your authentic self. I want you to start loving each moment of each day. Spend some time this week thinking about what makes you the happiest. What would you do if nothing was standing in your way?
