Catherine Lane, 42, travelled all the way to Vietnam to collect two Phu Quoc Ridgebacks, Mood and Sirius, reports ITV News. One of three dog breeds with a ridgeback, it’s an award-winning breed native to Phu Quoc island (meaning “beautiful island”) in Vietnam.
The Phu Quoc Ridgeback is extremely covetable — not only does it have a reputation for being friendly, intelligent and easy to train, it’s also very rare. Because the breed is native to Phu Quoc island and isolated from the rest of the world, they only bred with each other, resulting in their exclusive gene pool.
Only 800 of them are registered in the world, meaning big money changes hands for a puppy.
And they are also completely cute:

Mood and Sirius are now parents of four 8-week-old jet black puppies, for whom Lane has received offers between £500 and a whopping £10,000.
One puppy is reserved for a Danish couple who live in Dallas, another two will be going to live in Milan and the Seychelles and Lane hopes the remaining pup will go to a home in the U.K.
“The dogs themselves are stunning,” said Lane. “Every walk along the beach means I get stopped on average by four or five people wanting to know what they are and admiring them.”
The breeder and her four gorgeous puppies certainly won the hearts of Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby when they popped into the This Morning studio this week:
